Trump’s gasline fraud, nothing but a shoddy campaign stunt for Dan Sullivan

Donald Trump held a campaign event for Sen. Dan Sullivan in the White House Wednesday, complete with fabricated claims that the Korean government has agreed to pay $54 billion to build it.

This was a complete fraud perpetrated by Trump, Sullivan, Rep. Nick Begich the Third, Gov. Mike Dunleavy, and Trump’s cabinet.

It was all designed to give a political boost to Sullivan, who is running against Democrat Mary Peltola.

The main thing to know is that the Korean government has not agreed to pay $54 billion for the pipeline. Trump is lying.

When he visits Alaska to campaign for Sullivan, Trump will repeat the lie.

Sullivan, who knows that Trump is lying and that there is no $54 billion agreement, spoke at length about the proposed pipeline, but never once mentioned the country that is supposed to pay for it.

Or why Korea would pay for a project for which there are no binding agreements to buy the gas, creating a revenue source from which to pay back the investors.

Trump claimed Sullivan is “totally responsible” for the gas pipeline and that he is “great for the world.” Trump claimed Alaskans don’t know enough about Sullivan because if they did, he would have no competition to speak of in November.

The CEO of Glenfarne claimed that the pipeline will be providing “cheap gas” for Alaskans in three years, a timetable that is totally unrealistic.

The White House event was aimed at gullible Alaskans willing to be duped into thinking that the Trump administration is telling the truth, that the pipeline is a sure thing and that Sullivan deserves another term.

No one from the Korean government attended the White House event. No one from any Korean companies was there to speak about the project. No documents were signed. No documents were said to exist that detail the investments.

“The investment in the Alaska LNG project has not been finalized,” a leading official of Korea’s ruling party said. “The Alaska LNG project will be decided on the basis of sufficient review in accordance with our domestic legal procedures in accordance with the principle of commercial rationality.”

The news reports from Korea also touched on the lie that Korea will bankroll the project.

“Despite the South Korean government not yet finalizing its investment decision for the Alaska LNG project, Trump presented the deal as a fait accompli, highlighting it as an achievement,” The Chosun Daily reported.

Trump said the reason that the “world’s tallest governor,” “warrior” Begich the Third and Sullivan were in attendance was because the pipeline is now going to be built.

According to Trump, South Korea must spend hundreds of billions in the U.S. or he will punish the country with higher tariffs.

“In our trade agreement with South Korea they have to invest hundreds of billions of dollars. And for doing that I reduced their tariffs to 15 percent, but they paid to get em reduced. And part of that money is going into this project. Otherwise this project is so big probably, I don’t know, maybe the money wouldn’t be avaialble, very easily available. Japan is paying $550 buillion, unrelated. Europe pays $650 billion and South Korea about $250 billion. It’s all money that you never heard about before but we make great deals, that’s what we do,” Trump said.”

“By building the Alaska LNG pipeline we will deliver nearly 4 billion cubic feet of liquefied natural gas per day and that makes us puts us at a level that’s not comparable with anyone else.”

“For five decades politicians have talked about the Alaska pipeline. I’ve been hearing about it from the time I’m a little boy—the Alaska pipeline’s gonna be built someday. I was always fascinated by it. But today with the help of Sen. Dan S. Sullivan and don’t get it confused with anybody else, remember they put up a fake. It’s a fake Sullivan. Guy knows nothing,” said Trump.

(Trump was in his 30s when the discussion of the gas pipeline began.)

“But we’re finally getting it all done. But it just shows you how dirty and disgusting the political game is to do that. But this alone will be one of the largest energy projects in American history. And a gigantic win for the people of Alaska. It will create up to 12,000 construction jobs immediately and 1,000 operational jobs. It’ll also save Alaska households up to $1,500, maybe even as much as $2,200 in energy costs. It’s amazing.”

Trump kept mentioning Dan J. Sullivan.

“This is a great senator who is totally responsible for this pipeline. For what we’re doing, so many of the jobs we’ve done and so many of he jobs . . . You know I won Alaska be a lot, many many points. Did I win by how many points? Do you know?” Trump said as he turned to face Sullivan.

“Fifteen sir,” said Sullivan.

“How about 22?” said Trump. “A lot of points.”

(Trump won in Alaska by 13 points in 2024, not 22.)

“So we shouldn’t have a problem. But one of the reasons is we’ve done more for Alaska than anybody in history times 10. And this is a man that worked with me shoulder to shoulder,” Trump said of Sullivan.

“And he’s had my ear for a long time on Alaska. We did so many jobs between Cove road and all the different things that we got approved that nobody else could have ever. All these energy projects, they’re all mine. And I got em done working with Dan Sullivan,” he said.

Sullivan spoke about why Alaskans want the gas pipeline, but not at all about the alleged plan to pay for it. He praised Trump and his cabinet members.

“The sky is the limit when we get this project done. And Mr. President I want to thank you and your team. You know you have been focused on this from day one literally,” said Sullivan.

Dunleavy also had effusive praise for Trump, but also failed to mention anything about the alleged financing plan. But he said the pipeline is “wouldn’t have been done without the president of the United States Donald Trump. There’s. no doubt about it.”
