Taylor Rogers is an assistant press secretary in the White House. Sen. Dan Sullivan is repeating the lie that South Korea has agreed to put $54 billion into the Alaska LNG project.

Sullivan does this with the flexed bicep Emoji. And the shovel Emoji. But no number of Emojis will turn a lie into truth.

$54 billion is the alleged total cost of the project. It is ludicrous to believe that South Korea would make the pledge that Trump is claiming, especially since South Korean news organizations say there is no binding deal.

Alaska’s News Source also treated the Trump claim as true, simply repeating the official claims.
