Trump backs Wilson. Claims Bronson agreed to drop out. Bronson denies it.

Donald Trump chose to wade into the governor’s race Tuesday, doing so in a way that will help elect Jonathan Kreiss-Tomkins as governor.

Trump endorsed Bernadette Wilson, attacked Dave Bronson and claimed that Bronson has agreed to drop out of the race at Trump’s request.

Trump claimed Bronson “begged” him for an endorsement.

Bronson denied that he agreed to drop out of the race and intends to stick it out.

“His recollection is different than mine,” said Bronson of Trump, who said he told Trump that he suggested the other two candidates withdraw.

Bronson said Trump is the “best president for Alaska in state history.”

“This was a deal. The deal didn’t unfold the way it was supposed to, so I stayed in the race,” Bronson told Alaska’s News Source.

Trump claimed he had never heard of Tregarrick Taylor, the third Republican candidate.

Bronson said he does not plan to drop out.

“It doesn’t change my decision making at all,” Bronson said.

Trump has injected a great deal of confusion into the race and he clearly doesn’t understand ranked choice voting. Trump’s action will help JKT.

Earlier, Gov. Mike Duynleavy gave a contradictory message, telling the crowd to rank the three Republicans.
