Trump lies dozens of times to try to elect Sullivan, Begich

Donald Trump, who lied dozens of times during his speech in Wasilla, repeated his falsehoods about the gas pipeline Tuesday and claimed that the money to build the project is “already committed.”

That is not true.

South Korea has not agreed to provide the $54 billion that Trump and his employees claimed South Korea approved in time to help Sen. Dan Sullivan claim credit for getting all the money needed to build the gas pipeline.

“The gigantic project that we just created for Alaska will create over 13,000 jobs for you,” Trump said. “And save the typical Alaska household more than $2,000 a year on your energy bills. And it’s gonna end up being actually much higher than that. Think of that.”

“And I’m pleased to announce that Taiwan, they got lots of money because you know they stole our chip business years ago, because you didn’t have a president willing to put tariffs on chips,” Trump claimed. “But Taiwan has just agreed to buy 30 percent of the gas coming off the pipeline for the next 20 years. That guarantees the success. It’s one of the biggest commitments in history for anything,” he said. “It’s one of the biggest deals ever made.”

He claimed Taiwan has also agreed to put $4.4 billion into the pipeline. Two weeks ago Trump said South Korea has provided $54 billion. On Tuesday he said South Korea has agreed to provide $50 billion.

Commerce Secretary Howard Lutnick said Trump officials have been focused over the last week on making the pipeline deal even better.

“All week we were working with the Taiwanese government,” said Lutnick.

Lutnick acted as if the numbers mentioned by Trump have been agreed to by Korea and Taiwan.

“So thank you Mr. President for the greatest deal in the history of Alaska,” said Lutnick, a former visitor to Epstein’s island.

If there are agreements with Taiwan, they are not binding contracts. There has been no announcement from Taiwan or from Glenfarne about what Trump claimed were binding deals.

The $4 billion from Taiwan “is on top of the $50 billion already committed by South Korea to Alaska. And I have to say that Dan Sullivan helped me get this done,” he claimed.

None of these numbers are real. Nothing is done.

Trump lied about many other things during his speech, inventing phony statistics on almost every topic, including the inflation rate, climate change, auto plants, Social Security, the amount of money being invested in the U.S. and the $150 million grant for a new Anchorage-Healy electric line.

Trump had the FCC chairman come up to claim that Trump supports getting high-speed internet to everyone in Alaska.

The crowd cheered Trump’s claim that he will give every adult $5,000 if the Republicans control Congress, not realizing this will not happen.

He called Mary Peltola a “nut job” and falsely claimed that oil production in Alaska declined because of Peltola. He attacked Canada and the crowd cheered.
