Begich the Third joins extremists in ‘Sharia-Free America’ Caucus

Rep. Nick Begich the Third has joined the DOGE Caucus, the House Freedom Caucus, the Congressional Western Caucus, the Native American Caucus, the Congressional Ferry Caucus, the A.I. Caucus, the Golden Dome Caucus, the Real Estate Caucus, the Greenland Caucus, the Pacific Islands Caucus, the Croatian Caucus, the Crypto Caucus, the Rural Health Caucus, the Republican Study Committee, the EMS Caucus and now the Sharia-Free America Caucus.

He clearly excels at joining caucuses in Congress. He lists his membership in all of the above on his website except for the Sharia-Free America Caucus.

But the anti-Islam collection of Congressmen claims Begich as a full-fledged member.

Begich hasn’t told Alaskans about why this anti-Muslim hate group has become a priority for him. This should be an issue in his reelection campaign.

The Sharia-Free America Caucus is led by two extremists from Texas, Keith Self and Chip Roy, who claim that Sharia law is a threat to the future of the nation.

Self has claimed the U.S. needs to deport Muslims, while Roy claims he wants to stop a “massive wave” of Muslims from coming to America.

These are the people that Begich chooses to associate with on behalf of all Alaskans.

The Council on American-Islamic Relations, the nation’s largest civil rights group for Muslims, says the Sharia-Free America Caucus is a hate group, the first group of Congress members it has labeled an extremist organization.

CAIR says that the caucus backs legislation that would “effectively render the practice of Islam illegal in the United States.”

Members of the group have said that Muslims don’t belong in the United States and Rep. Randy Fine said he’d choose dogs over Muslims.

Writing for the Bulwark, Will Saletan says the GOP wants bogeymen for the midterm elections and has found again that Muslims fit the bill.

“The truth is that many of these Republicans just don’t like Islam. They can’t even hide it,” Saletan wrote.

“The Sharia-Free America Caucus isn’t wrong that there’s a dangerous movement afoot to impose religious law in the United States. They’re just wrong about which religion it is.”
