Sullivan tries to distract from Peltola's primary victory

A Wall Street Journal columnist in Wasilla thought it was too hard to tell the Sullivans apart when they were listed this way on the ballot.

The Mensa members in Sen. Dan Sullivan’s campaign coterie think that the people who voted for Petersburg Dan Sullivan are so stupid that they voted for the wrong Sullivan by mistake.

Were it not for all those dumbbells, Sullivan would only be about 4,000 votes behind Mary Peltola, instead of 7,000, according to the Sullivan, Dan S. (Registered Republican) Incumbent camp.

Kim Strassel, the Wall Street Journal columnist who moved to Wasilla, seems to think she is surrounded by stupidity. She told her national audience that maybe lots of potential Sullivan voters were so confused they could not sift through the list of two Sullivans shown above.

“How many Alaskans ticked the first box, unaware they were voting for someone other than whom they intended?” she moaned.

Strassel, who claims Alaska is the “poster child for dirty-pool politics,” did not suggest how many voters she thinks were duped.

“Alaskans will be even more confused when they have to ‘rank’ the two Dans in November,” she said.

Sure. Everyone is confused.

My guess is that nearly all of the 3,235 votes tallied so far for Sullivan, Daniel J. Jr. were protest votes, motivated in large part by the stupid attacks against him by Sullivan, Dan S. (Registered Republican) Incumbent, Trump, the Republican Party and the GOP noise makers.

They were not confused.

Some of Daniel J’s voters were protesting the behavior of the senator, while others protested on behalf of the retired teacher in Southeast, who has irked those who think Alaska isn’t big enough for two Sullivans.

The worldwide publicity kicked up by Sullivan, Dan S. (Registered Republican) Incumbent made it almost impossible for Alaska voters to not know about the dueling Sullivans.

Sullivan, Daniel J. Jr. became a household name in Alaska in a couple of months and a lot of people sided with him when they saw the powers arrayed against him—and those who called him a menace, a crook, a fraud and worse for doing something he has a right to do.

The protest votes he collected, which were all anti-incumbent votes, are going to largely become Peltola votes in November.

I voted for one of the Sullivans Tuesday. I wasn’t tricked. I will vote for Peltola in the next election, with one of the Sullivans as a second choice.

Sullivan, Dan S. (Registered Republican) Incumbent and his backers are trying to make people think that his loss to Peltola was not a loss at all, but the result of a scam engineered by Chuck Schumer and George Soros to undermine the Firewall of Freedom.

Sullivan, Dan S. (Registered Republican) Incumbent will do anything he can to divert attention away from his poor showing and the possibility that Peltola could wind up with more than 50 percent of the vote. She emerged from the election stronger. The incumbent emerged weaker.

Sullivan, Dan S. (Registered Republican) Incumbent is getting his national backers, like Sen. Tom Cotton, to claim that this whole thing is a disgrace. Cotton didn’t look at any of the numbers from the election and doesn’t understand that ranked choice voting did not come into play here. He’s selling the story that stupid voters tricked by devious Democrats are the main reason that Sullivan lost.

In the meantime, the Trump Department of Justice is trying to help Sullivan by targeting Petersburg Sullivan with its baseless claims that it is a crime for anyone else named Dan Sullivan to run for the U.S. Senate in Alaska.

It’s part of the Trump takeover, encouraged by Sullivan, Dan S. (Registered Republican) Incumbent, of turning the justice system into a machine to reward friends and punish political enemies, ignoring the rule of law. That’s the real disgrace, not the retired teacher from Petersburg.
