Execution of Alex Pretti and the Alaska delegation

On January 8, Sen. Lisa Murkowski called for federal action to prevent another killing like that of Renee Good.

“Yesterday was devastating and cannot happen again,” Murkowski said. She called on the Trump administration to make sure its officers “have the necessary training and resources to safely—and with empathy and respect for human life—carry out these activities.”

It happened again this weekend with the murder of Alex Pretti. Masked federal gunmen who clearly don’t have the training and resources or the empathy and respect for human life that Murkowski mentioned killed him on the street.

Shortly after I posted on this topic today, Murkowski added her voice to the national outcry, calling for an independent investigation.

She agreed it appeared that Pretti was unarmed when he was shot. She said the federal agents do not have carte blanche to do whatever they wish.

Unfortunately it appears the masked gunmen believe they are free to shoot people who protest.

Alaskans need to hear from Sen. Dan Sullivan and Rep. Nick Begich the Third about what they plan to do to prevent more executions by federal gunmen who behave like thugs.

So far they have said nothing about the murder of Pretti, who was holding his cell phone and had his gun taken away from him before he was shot dead.

The videos show the Trump administration is lying about his execution. This is according to analysis of the videos by the Wall Street Journal, the New York Times, the Washington Post and CNN.

I don’t buy the assumption that Sullivan and Begich can do nothing. They need to condemn the murder in unequivocal language and hold the Trump goons accountable.

Murkowski is capable of doing so. Sullivan and Begich lack the political courage, a deficiency that needs to be highlighted as they run for office this year.

If Sullivan and Begich speak out with weasel words, as I suspect, they should be held accountable.

I ask that readers who have contacted Murkowski, Sullivan or Begich and have received responses from them about this horrific situation to send me copies so I can inform others about what Murkowski, Sullivan and Begich plan to do.
