Sen. Dan Sullivan and seven other GOP senators would be able to try to pocket $500,000 from the federal government under an outrageous retroactive provision hidden by Republicans in the measure to reopen the government.

ConocoPhillips now says the Willow project, about half finished, will cost between $8.5 billion and $9 billion, with oil expected to flow in early 2029.
